10/02/18: Abandoned balloons (four tied together)
North Finchley. Yet more plastic for birds to choke on. I put them in a wheelie-bin. See also HERE.

08/02/18: Abandoned number balloons
Millwall Dock, E14. These were in the shape of numbers – possibly a "2" and a "5" – although I doubt that the swans who live there appreciated this. More balloons HERE.

28/01/18: Abandoned bridge books
North Finchley. A woman was already rummaging through them when I got there, and she said that most of the books were about the game of bridge.

13/01/18: Abandoned Christmas trees 2018
Totteridge. The annual walk to spot abandoned Christmas trees produced 26 sightings – slightly down on the 37 from last year in Finchley (see HERE). It's fascinating to observe the different ways people dump their trees – for example, left in the gutter, leaning at a nice angle, upside down in a wheelie bin or as a shaved stick propped against a fence.

26/12/16: Abandoned playing card #13: ace of hearts
Woodside Park. According to The Cards of Life, ace of hearts people "learn through the experience of trial and error. A life task of the Ace of Hearts♥ person is to learn gratitude and selflessness. By applying their creativity in their work they can achieve notoriety which will fulfill their deep desire for attention. Learning to truly love and accept themselves opens the door to more fulfilling relationships."

05/12/17: Abandoned playing card #12: six of spades
Whetstone. According to THIS site: "The Six of Spades♠ has a deep sense of purpose about their lives as their life experiences continue to require them to evolve on a spiritual and emotional level. This card symbolizes the karmic Law of Cause and Effect: for every action there is an equal reaction. When the Six of Spades♠ person gives their best, focusing on the highest and best good for all, there’s no stopping them. Living responsibly, honestly, and in truth with their work and health, fulfillment is theirs to be had." The site also states: "People of this card and suit are ultimately here to experience life and themselves through work/labor, health, death/dying, wisdom and/or spirituality."

11/11/17: Abandoned car #3
Totteridge/Whetstone. This car crashed a few days ago and was simply left at the side of the road, sticking out dangerously into the passing traffic. Then the road needed to be resurfaced, and the wreck was moved up the street and parked near the tube – a decision that has proved controversial...

02/11/17: Abandoned man #4
He was stuck on top of a "franked mail only" post box. Other abandoned men HERE.

22/10/17: Abandoned horse #2
Totteridge. This horse had sustained some damage to his back and lost one of its wings. I wondered if it was Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, but Pegasus was white.
22/10/17: Abandoned car #2
Brook Farm Open Space, Totteridge. Very near to the site of abandoned car #1.

19/10/17: Abandoned rice
Isle of Dogs, E14. Mostly rice – a great deal of it – with some bread at the edges. Even the pigeons didn't want this.

03/10/17: Abandoned playing card #11: seven of diamonds
Isle of Dogs, E14. According to THIS site, the "meaning" of the seven of diamonds is as follows: "As one of the alternating Semi-Fixed Cards of the deck, the Seven of Diamonds occupies the Venus/Venus position in the Master Life Script and the Saturn/Saturn position in the Master Spirit Script. This Venus influence bestows an artistic flair, a love of nature and beauty and a certain social charm like no other. The Saturn energy, however, tends more toward firm boundaries and self-discipline. An interesting and unique blend of flow and constriction is experienced by this Seven in the cards of life."
