26/11/15: Abandoned Minnie Mouse
Argyle Road, N12. Never really understood the appeal of Mickey Mouse or his girlfriend Minnie Mouse. The same must have gone for whoever ditched this not-very-mini Minnie in a Finchley skip.

23/11/15: Abandoned spy thriller #2
Near Euston station. Fourth abandoned book in just over a year (see also HERE). So far thrillers are the most popular abandoned genre.
Monday, 16 November 2015
16/11/15: Abandoned creature #4
Near Goodge Street tube. A cousin of Abandoned creature #3? Click HERE to compare. Are these furry animals now living and breeding in London?

11/11/15: Abandoned woman
Near Goodge Street tube station. No idea who this long-haired beauty is. To her credit, she continued dancing even after her fortunes took a downturn and she ended up abandoned, on the floor, splattered with mud.

02/11/15: Abandoned hand
Warren Street. Probably the nastiest "abandoned" item ever. Middle finger has a piece of string attached. If it hadn't have been so close to Halloween, I would have been calling the police...

25/10/15: Abandoned keys #2
Left on the Northern Line at about 11 p.m., this bunch contained a car key, a Tesco club card, a chain and a penknife. If you're looking for them, I handed them in to lost property at Totteridge & Whetstone ticket office.

10/10/15: Abandoned map
It was loitering (and littering) in Copthall, NW4, but this cartographic fragment depicts the A110, the A112 and King George's Reservoir near Chingford.
10/10/15: Abandoned creature #2
Whetstone. Lying, unloved, on the wall next to the closed-down Sequoia nightclub (see HERE for info). No wonder he's blue.

09/10/15: Abandoned creature
Dinosaur? Dragon? Crocodile? Whatever it was, the poor beast had been stuffed into a cardboard box and left in the street opposite Kentish Town tube station.

25/09/15: Abandoned tie #2
At the top of Totteridge Lane, next to the Whetstone Boots. Fairly smart, and more attractive than its cousin HERE.
Thursday, 10 September 2015
10/09/15: Abandoned trainers
Near Goodge Street tube station. Not much wrong with these trainers, other than them being trainers.
Monday, 7 September 2015
07/09/15: Abandoned bear
Despite being sadly abandoned, this bear appeared to do a little dance as I passed it on Stanhope Street, NW1. I hope he found his way home.

06/09/15: Abandoned remote control #3
North Finchley car park. Remote controls are clearly THE fashionable item to abandon right now. As a bonus, here's an army helicopter too.

10/08/15: Abandoned keys
Totteridge. Found these in the road and placed them on this post. Six days later they were still there. On the seventh day, they had vanished.
Thursday, 6 August 2015
06/08/15: Abandoned baby bottle
Just up the road from Totteridge & Whetstone tube station, balanced on the edge of a phone box. But why?

18/07/15: Abandoned man #2
Whetstone High Street. Another abandoned man (see also here). This one has fancy green boots. Less appealingly, he had a long human hair wrapped around him.
18/07/15: Abandoned money
Whetstone. Two £50 notes. In Scott B. Smith’s novel A Simple Plan, two brothers and their friend stumble across $4.4 million in a crashed plane in the woods. They decide to keep the money – with extreme and tragic consequences. I'm hoping that my decision to keep this £100 will be relatively trouble-free.

11/06/15: Abandoned "I've had an eye test" sticker
Whetstone. "I've had an eye test". Maybe you have, but you've also abandoned the sticker that proves it.

30/05/15: Abandoned number plate #3
Monday, 25 May 2015
Tuesday, 28 April 2015
28/04/15: Abandoned number plate #2
At the top of Totteridge Lane, next to the Whetstone Boots. See HERE for the previous abandoned number plate.
Wednesday, 22 April 2015
22/04/15: Abandoned sheet music
At the top of Totteridge Lane, next to the Whetstone Boots, was this sheet music. There is nothing written on it, suggesting that the music – as well as the sheet – had been abandoned.
Thursday, 16 April 2015
16/04/15: Abandoned bathtubs
Just off Harrington Street, NW1. Like beached whales, they were stranded with little hope of surviving the ordeal of being out of their usual habitat.
Wednesday, 8 April 2015
08/04/15: Abandoned "I'm a Star" hat
Albany Street, London, NW1. One of the myths created by the "TV talent-show" culture is that "everyone can be a star". In fact, most people cannot be a star and should not be a star. Wearing this hat will not help you be a star, either.

14/03/15: Abandoned goop
Totteridge pavement. I thought this white goop was whipped cream, but after a few days it still looked identical (rather than collapsing into a wet mush, as you'd expect). It turned out to be some kind of chemical sealant and had set hard. Who would leave chemical sealant at the bottom of a tree? I moved it to a skip. It will still be sitting in landfill about 30,000 years from now.
